Software Engineer 1 - Device Driver Product Development

The candidate shall be responsible for the definition, testing and maintenance of software that interfaces with networking equipment (routers, switches, storage devices, application servers and security appliances).

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software components used for configuring and monitoring network equipment within the Redcell Product Suite.
  • Analysis shall include determining and characterizing the capabilities of networking equipment in order to meet market and customer based requirements.
  • Define configuration schemes and interfaces for controlling the creation and behavior of services that reside on network devices.
  • Work closely under the direction of the team lead engineer and with the Redcell software development teams to ensure seamless integration with the existing features in the Redcell product suite.<.li>
  • Test and support deployment of software modules.
  • Hands on configuration of routers, switches and other network appliances.
  • Adhere to software development process, internal standards and architectural integrity of the Redcell system.

Experience:
  • Course studies covering basic IP Networking concepts (LANs, WANs, Routers, Switches, ?).
  • Course studies or job experience working with a structured, object oriented programming language (Java or C++ preferred).
Education:
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Required Skills:
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Software Design, Coding, Testing and Implementation Skills, including any of the following technologies: Java. Web services(SOAP/WSDL), XML, HTTP.

  • Minimum 1 year experience with system level analysis of complex problems.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working directly with customers to identify and resolve problems.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Description:
Our Quality Assurance engineers develop and execute test plans for products built in leading edge technologies like JAVA, EJB, J2EE, JMS, CORBA, Object-Oriented and Web. You will support proprietary software and subsystem software testing. Develop, implement, and execute test plans and procedures. Perform system, integration, and regression testing. Provide technical review of test documentation and software requirement documents as well as tracking defects and system enhancements using PVCS Tracker.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess knowledge of test procedures and methodologies, have experience with automated testing tools and testing embedded systems. Previous experience with one or more of the following is required: System testing, Integration testing, Regression testing, API level testing, White Box testing, Black Box testing, Beta testing, Load and Stress Testing. Experience with solid defect report writing, client server experience and GUI application experience is desired. Good verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to work in team environment with proven organizational skills, and attention to detail. Must be flexible.

3-5 years software quality testing in a large software environment 3+ years creating and creating and executing test plans and test scripts. Strong Unix background especially Solaris and Linux Strong XML, HTML and SQL experience Solid Experience in an operational/support role 2+ years web based testing 1+ years testing Routers, switches in a WAN environment Working knowledge of the OSI model and L2 and L3 Devices. Communicate product readiness, level of quality and results to the project team. Proven ability to review product specifications and documentation Experience with automated testing
